BLK360 makes light work of Grade II Cottage

MobileCAD were appointed back in March to produce a detailed measured building survey package for this Grade II Listed Thatched Cottage in Burton-on-Trent.

This charming cottage dates back to around the mid 16th century and features a wonderful thatched roof and timber frame detailing throughout. Accommodation is spread over two floors with three bedrooms and bathroom at first floor and kitchen, lounge and dining room downstairs as well as additional sun room garage, utility and study.

As the cottage has a lot of distinguishing features and time on site was limited, the Leica BLK360 was used to scan of the property both internally and externally to gather as much data as possible in the time allowed. In just two days on site, our surveyor was able to fully scan the property and also take outline measurements with a Total Station. The office team used the data from site to produce the detailed measured building survey package in 3 days of commencing the drawings.

Here are some the drawings for that package as well as a walk through of the point cloud data from the BLK360.
